Who we are

Hollywood Curling is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation organized for charitable purposes. We are a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States.

Our mailing address is: PO Box 7872, Van Nuys, CA, 91409. Our primary place of business is at 4545 Pacific Blvd, Vernon, CA, 90058, but our volunteers work out of home offices across Los Angeles County.

Applicable Laws

We take our visitors’ privacy seriously and strive to protect your personal information as outlined in this privacy policy. However, we are exempt from certain specific privacy laws:

  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): We are a nonprofit organization, so the CCPA does not apply to us.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles and pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

In general, we do not share your data with any third parties, except if you become a member of Hollywood Curling as described below. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, analytics software, or advertising on this website.

We maintain a presence on some third-party platforms for social media interaction and to offer certain goods and services (such as event tickets or merchandise). These other platforms include but are not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Eventbrite. If you interact with us via third-party platforms, you should read their respective privacy policies. We may receive analytics and marketing data about you if you interact with us on third-party platforms.

If you become a member of Hollywood Curling, we will share your information with several other organizations:

United States Curling Association (USA Curling)

We share your information with USA Curling in order to set up and maintain your membership status with them and to meet their reporting requirements for member clubs. You cannot opt out of this sharing as an active Hollywood Curling member.

Mountain Pacific Curling Association (MoPac)

We share your information with MoPac in order to set up and maintain your membership status with them and to meet their reporting requirements for member clubs. You cannot opt out of this sharing as an active Hollywood Curling member.

Southern California Curling Center (SCCC)

During membership registration, we give you the option to have your name and email address shared with SCCC. If you select “Yes”, we will share this information and they may use it to send you marketing emails. If you select “No” or leave the field empty, we will not share your information with SCCC. To unsubscribe or opt out of emails from SCCC, you will need to contact them or use the “unsubscribe” links in emails that they send.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
