Since 2000, curlers in the state of California have been extended an invitation to participate in the Pacific International Cup in Richmond, BC. Provided we are extended an invitation for 2014, a statewide play down will take place in November 2013. The Pacific International Cup will be held April 16 - 20, 2014
The Men’s and Women’s California State Playdown will be open to players/teams from the five California State USCA affiliated curling clubs (CSD, HCC, OCC, SFBACC and WCC). The winning teams from this event will represent California in the 2014 Pacific International Cup to be held in Richmond, BC.
The Pacific International Cup is British Columbia’s Provincial Championship that grants a Men’s and Women’s team the right to represent BC in the national ‘Dominion Club Curling Championship’. The Provincial and National Championships are are formulated for true club curlers. The intent is to support ordinary curlers and the development of curling. We are looking to align ourselves with the intent of the ‘PIC’ and the ‘Dominion’ and we trust that all participants in the California/PIC process will respect the intent of this playdown for those competitions. We keep this objective in mind as we set our eligibility requirements and on-ice rules, including the USCA General Rules of Curling. For our representative players/teams, we are looking to send currently active California-based club curlers. The California PIC Committee reserves the right to exclude any player/team that violates this spirit and intent.
Registration/Payment Deadline is October 14, 2013
